AWE are currently seeking an experienced DBA Team Leader to manage the day to day work load of the Application DBA team ensuring all daily, weekly and monthly system requirements are carried out in accordance with policies and procedures to maintain application availability and support in line with SLAs.

Location - Reading area

Package - £40,000- £50,000 subject to skills and experience

  • In depth knowledge of the support and management of Microsoft SQL server databases and associated middleware technologies and a working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS. Provide system knowledge (SME) and support to effectively manage these services.
  • To ensure capability within the team to provide a database design and delivery service in support of required IS projects.
  • Ensuring that processes, procedures, monitoring and maintenance activities are carried out to maintain application and database availability and supportability in line with SLAs.
  • Ensuring that the team's Service Desk call queue is monitored and that all service requests and incidents are allocated and addressed in a timely manner and in accordance with SLA requirements.
  • To manage DBA resources in support of Application Services development, change and project activities.
  • Undertaking performance and capacity management of systems to ensure that they are optimally configured to deliver the required business service.
  • Undertaking the delivery management of Managed Tasks and Minor Projects being delivered within the team.
