Job Title: Transmission Finance Analyst

Location: Perth

Salary: £24,923 - £32,919 (depending on skills and experience)

Permanent Full Time Hours with Flexible working patterns available - 37 hours per week

About the Department

Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSE's obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs. SSE operates in a highly regulated and increasingly competitive environment, and our role is to ensure that we gather, compile, analyse and recommend on the financial strategy for our businesses, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and create value for SSE now, and in the future.

What is the Role?

This role will be responsible for providing support to the Transmission business within SSEN as the company enters the last 2 years of the current price Control and looks ahead to the next. You will be working as part of a small team & the role will require attention to detail and willingness to seek process improvement.

A significant element of this role relates to the control and cost apportionment of travel costs (2-3 days per week).
This is a varied, flexible and challenging role with primary responsibilities amongst the following:

- Allocate travel costs

- Day to day involvement in cost allocations

- Oracle project set up

- Support Transmission cost centre managers in interrogating their cost centres, understand trends and challenge costs. Strong emphasis on keeping costs under tight control

- Contribution into Budgets and forecasts

- Provide support as required to the wider Finance team

- Contribute into effort to maintain control of Purchase to Pay process

- Assist with Control account reconciliations

What do I need?

Willing to undertake a varied and challenging role and work flexibly as an important part of a growing team with the ability to communicate messages clearly.

Able to work to tight timescales & be pro-active and use initiative whilst always providing a high degree of support and patience when dealing with all stakeholders.

Experience of working in a Finance team and using Excel.

Overall, you will need to be assertive, pro-active, helpful and diligent in their approach.

Either degree qualified, working towards a professional qualification or Qualified by experience.
