A leading developer of Optic and Photonic Products now seeks an Application / Product Engineer to join their rapidly growing facility in Somerset.

Working across all departments, you will develop key networks with internal departments, customers, suppliers and third-party service providers.

This is a key role in Product Development, which will see you liaising between the Sales, Commercial, and Engineering Teams, Suppliers and the Customers / end users.

You will answer technical queries from the customers, and feedback to Engineering customer requirements.

One key aspect of this role is to bring customers to the demonstration lab and provide full product demonstrations to ensure they meet customer specifications.

Working alongside the Sales Team, utilising your technical Optics and Photonics knowledge, including specific Product knowledge, you will ensure the product meets customer requirements, and determine how to manufacture the specified product(s).

The Application Engineer will see you working with NPI and upgrading existing products.

At the heart of this key role, is the need to identify both manufacturing capability, and customer requirement, and ensure the product is correctly specified and built to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications:

As the successful candidate you will hold a relevant Degree in a Scientific / Electronics / Engineering Discipline, such as Optics, Mechanical or Physical Engineering.

Considerable working experience in a similar NPI Environment and role working with Photonic, Optic and Opto-electronic Products will also be considered.

Experience:

Through your previous roles you will have gained experience of managing / working within multidiscipline teams within an NPI environment.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working within medium volume manufacturing, particularly within Aerospace, Defence, Industrial and Life Science or AS9100.
