Absolute are operating as a recruitment agency for the supply of permanent opportunities. Our prestigious Electronics client is seeking a Production Team Leader at their Cwmbran site, UK

To work alongside the Operations Manager and Team Leaders to proactively link strategy in to actions to ensure a smooth manufacturing operation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, driving efficiency improvements, meeting KPIs and promoting a zero incident safety culture.

Essential Functions include:
Enforce applicable safety, health and environmental guidelines and encourage personnel to further eliminate potential hazards.
Plan production schedules & reallocate resources as the production situation changes and provide training for all employees on the shop floor.
Lead Tier meetings to provide daily direction setting and co-ordinate information.
Build staffing plan to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leading process improvements and empowered work teams, recording daily SQDCI figures and be responsible for 5S+ within individual areas along the shop floor.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of lean and manufacturing processes with the ability to act quickly, making decisions & solving problems.
Process oriented and ability to contribute to continuous improvement.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills & the ability to lead others in the matrix environment.
Strong ethics, values and the ability to influence others' decision making.

Additional Information:
Willing to learn to a suitable level in all Microsoft Office applications and SAP
Desirable Skills: Familiar with MRP systems is an advantage, kaizen experience, green belt or higher six sigma trained.

Soldering also an advantage

The hourly rate is £10.57 per hour, 39 hours, 7-4 Monday -Thursday , 7-12 Friday
