Building Surveyor/Lifecycle Manager

Our client is a genuinely "Smart Business" They specialise in smart engineering & technology-drive solutions for the build environment. They work with some of the biggest blue-chip companies in the UK as well as local authorities & the wider building communities.

For their Glasgow office they have an immediate requirement for a Building Surveyor/Lifecycle Manager

The Building Surveyor/Lifecycle Manager will report to the Operational & Commercial managers, the job holder will be responsible for working within the FM team establishing, managing & coordinating the lifecycle & variation works, liaising with on-site FM managers and clients to coordinate the base works plans with the actual requirements.

Essential

The successful candidate will be qualified to MRICS or equivalent status with a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience.

Experience of work with senior teams within the FM - PFI sector

Experience of procurement work with senior teams within the FM - PFI sector

Typical duties in this role will include:

Undertaking building condition surveys.

Organise lifecycle expenditure programmes working with operational FM teams & clients to organise programmes, works and assist with the commercial and operational teams in selecting subcontractors

Preparing reports/Schedules of Dilapidations and Schedules of Condition

Undertaking building defect diagnosis inspections

Prepare Planned Maintenance Programmes and assist with management of associated life cycle budgets and spend.

Preparing, manage and deliver the supply chain tender process including any necessary documents & schedules of work.

To undertake the role of Client or Principle designer in respect of CDM Regulations

Quality assurance checks of ongoing or completed works.

Provide technical assistance to manage property related contract variations

Preparation of budget costings for proposed projects.

Project cost management & administration

Preparing CAD drawings

Preparation of Planning and other Local Authority Consent Applications

Providing Principal Designer input to projects

Manage & supervise the agreed lifecycle plans, including the procurement and subsequent control of both direct and indirect supply chain accounts, minimising risk and disputes

Monitor/Report accurately for the client and stakeholders the drawdowns against the lifecycle fund and to ensure that all contractual obligations are met

We require a Building Surveyor/Lifecycle Manager with a sound technical knowledge of traditional and modern construction methods. With excellent written communication skills, fully IT literate on all Microsoft Office programmes, competent in producing CAD drawings and have reasonable understanding of common property management processes
