Rawdon's Recruitment are recruiting a commercial Manager for our ever-expanding client in Corby.
The Commercial Operations Manager will be based at the site/depot working with the
Operations Director, with a dotted line to the Group Finance Director and will be fully self-
sufficient with an ability to hit the ground running and make commercial decisions.

Operations Director, General Manager, AGM, Group Maintenance and H&S Manager, Group HR
Team, Group IT Director, Group Security Manager, Head of Finance, Commercial Director, other
Operations Directors and General Operational Management.
Externally:
All Suppliers, Statutory Legal Financial Compliance Organisations and Customers.
Main Purpose of Role
The Commercial Operations Manager will be tasked with driving performance and profitability
through analysis, insight, solutions and business partnering. These activities should identify
financial efficiencies ('added value solutions') of new and existing contracts.
A key part of the role will be to deliver operational support and to ensure that rigorous financial
control systems (revenue data capture through to final invoicing) are in place thereby ensuring
that the business is maximising all returns on investment.
Ability to build and express financial (P&L) trends, identify key triggers (Financial KPI's) and
establish cost and revenue drivers. Ability to produce internal and external financial reports and
conduct review meetings.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
MANAGE
Commercial operational optimisation, including deep dives into customer processes, margins and workflows
Investigate and review customer satisfaction (invoice queries)
Produce daily, weekly and monthly financial reports

Ensure profit/loss targets and financial KPI's targets are met - "making money attitude"
Ensure business costs are recorded accurately and timely (eg operational hours, operating
expenditure)
Provide financial governance processes and audit to ensure company policies on purchasing/invoicing/sign off and cap-ex policies are followed.
PLAN
Work alongside the Commercial team and Operations Directors on new customer quotations and tender reviews through to implementation and final invoice processing.
Produce daily, weekly and monthly financial reports
Set and review monthly/annual budgets with the operations team
ORGANISE
Work with key stakeholders to deliver the daily financial KPI's.
Ensuring the Operations Director is fully aware of negative/positive P&L factors.
Ensure governance is maintained on previously agreed SOP's and implement governance which is not in place where required.
MEASURE
Drive development and improvement of new and existing operations reporting tools and functionalities.
Develop a detailed reporting mechanism to ensure the Operations Director is aware of invoicing or revenue capture issues.
Review the daily/weekly planning and ensure we are planning for profit.
Create and review financial "flash" daily planning against operational execution
ADAPT
Achieve and sustain 'best in class' operational performance within budget, whilst delivering 'continuous improvement' initiatives to financial targets

Successfully collaborate across multiple departments to help drive process improvement and increased profitability with the implementation of business solutions

Ensure that all financial/commercial activity is undertaken in line with legislative requirements (Financial Governance).
Make sure invoice processes are followed and audits undertaken
Investigate and review customer satisfaction (invoice queries)
To undertake any other reasonable task as required

Significant knowledge and experience of logistics management systems and their effective use
Experience operating at a senior management level in a 3PL/Transport environment
Experience of delivering and exceeding budgetary targets

Developed management capability by working on cross functional assignments and developing client relationships alongside multiple stakeholders

Qualifications Preferred:
CIMA/ACCA or ACA qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience
Salary of between £40K to £50K depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a commercial management role and hold relevant qualifications and should come from a warehousing/manufacturing background
