This role is focused on the UI design for our web facing systems to support our growing portfolio of work. Working as part of wider delivery/project team you will be responsible for designing and delivering quality UI visual designs and interactions, whilst working with the system analysts to support integration with back end applications.

Your background should include experience of working with high volume ecommerce and/or highly transactional financial services sites. As part of a multi skilled delivery team you will be expected to contribute across all areas of delivery and have a desire to learn new skills to support this. This is an exciting and challenging role for someone to be involved in promoting and developing UI and UX design principles across a number of solutions both new and existing.

EquinitiToplevel are a leading provider of web enabled Case Management solutions, built around the core product Outreach. Our clients include not only key public sector organisations such as HMPO, Legal Aid Agency, Office for National Statistics and Charity Commission, but also a growing number of the FTSE clients that Equiniti already works with.

Core Duties/Responsibilities
  • Produce deliverables appropriate to the needs of the project with regards to visual design, graphics, usability and accessibility.
  • Provide estimates for the delivery of proposed solutions.
  • Work on multiple projects/solutions at a time.
  • Liaise with developers to ensure an appropriate implementation of the design.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels to ensure that all deliverables fully meet the needs of the users and the requirements / expectations set.
  • Work with the system analysts to ensure the application integration supports the optimal user experience.
  • Support the UX evaluations; recommends and implements improvements in user interface, with regard for visual design and user interaction.
  • Accurately reports progress on their tasks and raises future risk and issues within own area.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of relevant UI design developments and actively shares knowledge.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills: able to "drawout" the requirements of others and identify areas that may have not been previously considered.
  • Ability to use appropriate technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, Axure) to produce deliverables.
  • Sound understanding of fundamental design concepts (Typography, visual hierarchy, Colour, texture etc.).
  • Basic understanding of the 5 competencies of UX Design (information architecture, interaction design, usability engineering, visual design and prototype engineering).
  • Awareness of usability and accessibility assessments.
  • Good understanding of user centred design.
  • Sound awareness of the business and project constraints as they apply to UX/UI design.
  • Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management.
  • Proven track record of producing accurate and pragmatic estimates for all stages of work.
  • Ability to identify, escalate and manage risks, issues and actions.
  • Driven to update your skills, awareness and understanding of developments in the wider commercial world and capable of bringing relevant ideas "to the table".
  • Experience of working within a software delivery lifecycle as part of multiple project teams.
  • Experience in the financial sector preferred but not essential.
  • Awareness of IT Data Security standards.
  • Experienced in using source control and bug tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of/experience in working to different software delivery models.
  • Knowledge of/experience in enterprise development technologies and tools beneficial.
