Residential Support Worker required for a children's home for young people with autistic spectrum disorders and challenging behaviour.

As a member of the residential care team you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and guiding them in their daily lives. This could be in the form of helping the young person at school, accompanying them to take part in an activity (walking, horse riding, trampolining, Duke of Edinburgh etc.) or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines.

The home operate a rolling rota which indicates your shift patterns for the following 12 weeks. A typical early shift would be 07:30-16:00 and a late shift 15:30-22:00. You will work a combination of early and late shifts as assigned by the house manager. There is also the opportunity to earn extra for a sleep-in shift, as well as the possibility of overtime.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have previous experience of working within residential childcare or of working with young people with autism/challenging behaviour.
