We are currently looking for 2 x Finance Cashier / Purchase Ledger Clerks to join a busy company in Caerphilly on a full time basis.

The role sits within the accounting team and reports to the Purchase Ledger Supervisor and is a hybrid role which fulfils two purposes; those of a Cashier and those of a Purchase Ledger Clerk.

Cashier: This aspect of the role is responsible for receiving and distributing funds and payments in line with the Company controls, maintaining records in line with Company policy and processes.

Purchase Ledger Clerk: This element of the role is accountable for the purchase ledger process, from purchase orders through to invoices and reconciliation. This enables to role holder to monitor how much is owed at all times and enables the provision of this information to the Company as required.

Key Duties:
  • Ensure that all purchase ledger payments, sales ledger receipts, and cash book payments and receipts are properly authorised and accurately accounted for in the Company ledgers.
  • Company banking and bank account reconciliation is carried out accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Support with monthly supplier statement reconciliations
  • Ensure cash forecast initiatives are followed on a timely basis in line with Company expectations.
  • All petty cash is accurately recorded and contains all relevant authorised documentation.
  • Timely reconciliation of the sales ledger and purchase ledger control accounts in accordance with the month end timetable.
  • Produce the monthly recharge analysis for the Finance team.
  • Process employee expenses in line with Company guidelines.
  • Ensure that all suppliers and customers are accurately set-up on the Company system

Experience:
  • Experience in Cashiering and or Purchase Ledger is essential
  • Strong administration skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong use of computer packages and accounting / financial software
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced commercial environment
