Based at our Wrington office, we are recruiting for a Management Accountant for our Managed Estate. This role is responsible for weekly and monthly reporting of financial performance of the managed estate to financial controller, managed estate division and senior stakeholders.

Routine/Key responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including interrogation and understanding of variances to budget.
  • Weekly sales reporting together with variance analysis and understanding performance.
  • Development of reporting information to meet the ongoing needs of the business.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
  • Management of site cost base of division, to include internal checks back to invoice, variance analysis & providing feedback to finance/operations team as required.
  • Manage Fixed Asset registers and reporting on Capex spend to the board.
  • Financial support to the Financial Controller, Managing Director of the division and operations team.

Payroll:
  • Weekly/PTD/YTD reporting and challenge of spend to manage biggest variable cost within the division.
  • Reconciliation of payroll spend from S4 Labour to month end accounts.
  • Management of Holiday pay positioning and accruals.
  • Completion of adhoc requirements in relation to Payroll.
  • Provide independent commercial challenge to the decisions made within the division.
  • Ad Hoc analysis and reporting of financial performance for both finance and operational stakeholders to aid decision making.

Acquisitions & Refurbishments:
  • Investment appraisals (including P&L budgeting, IRR, Sensitivity analysis).
  • Post-acquisition appraisal of performance.

Other:
  • Managing financial compliance with regulatory bodies i.e. Gaming commission, as directly relates to the division.
  • Liaison with external auditor's/tax advisors, suppliers, stakeholders as required.

Skills/Experience

We are looking for someone that is well organised and able to work to tight multiple deadlines.

The ideal candidate must have good communication skills and be commercially aware. Experience of Microsoft Excel to manipulate large data is essential. Experience on Microsoft Navision and Jet reports would be an advantage.

Educated to ACA, ACCA or CIMA, ideally with at least 3 years PQE.

There will be some requirement to travel to the Channel Island and the various pub sites for training, team meetings and other specific meetings;
