Due to continuing growth and evolvement of our Risk function we have a number of exciting opportunities and we are currently on the lookout for an experienced Senior Data & Analytics Analyst to help lead the way. Our Senior Analysts play an integral part in ensuring that the foundations of our business decisions are secure and to provide quantitative MI and analytics within the Risk data environments. If you love to build relationships, work collaboratively and support change, this role could be a great match for you!

As a Senior Data & Analytics Analyst, you will be supporting the Head of Risk Infrastructure & Analytics and the Risk Analytics team on all aspects of data strategy, architecture, management, implementation and analysis on the Risk data environments and systems. Configuring, implementing and testing key changes to the risk data environment, including IRB capital and impairment changes, will be required as well as the need to create and adopt strategies that support business stakeholders. Knowledge of SAS technologies mainly SAS EG and SAS DI Studio is also required and knowledge of SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Enterprise Miner and SAS Model Manager is advantageous. You'll support colleagues and assist in mentoring and coaching junior analysts to create a strong, well skilled Risk Data & Analytics team.

There's more!

You will be joining a highly skilled team and will have an influential opportunity to make a difference to our risk portfolio. We want you to lead the way and to serve as a technical expert and formally/informally supervise the work of others. As a Senior Data & Analytics Analyst, you will encourage the strategic direction of the function and will be responsible for leading the development of industry good practice in the areas of architectures, model implementation, policies, practices and procedures so that data and implementation is managed across the full lifecycle and meets the needs of risk.

Specifically, you will develop key skills on our Cards and Mortgage portfolios, build strong stakeholder management and time management capabilities and learn to deliver high quality solutions to required deadlines. You will also have the unique opportunity to be part of the journey to help shape the risk data landscape with the evolution of 2 banks becoming 1. Ideally we are looking for someone with retail banking and with knowledge of retail banking products, but don't worry if you don't as we'd still love to hear from you.

To be successful, you will be analytical in your approach and thoroughly review the Virgin Money portfolio to make proactive recommendations and support managers to input to new strategies to achieving business objectives. We want you to be curious and innovate when it comes to establishing risk's policies, rules or standards that govern which data is collected, and how it is stored, arranged, integrated, and put to use in data systems and used within risk management. As you can tell, this is a varied role so if you're up for the challenge...
