We know that our people are our greatest asset and we are delighted to be growing our team further as we have a requirement for a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Team Leader to lead a section of our expanding Purchase Ledger Team team at our Alfreton Head Office.

The successful Accounts Payable Team Leader should be enthusiastic, organised and have excellent attention to detail, capable of prioritising and delegating work to team members, while ensuring that all objectives are met in a timely manner.

The Team Leader will be an effective communicator to both internal and external stakeholders, and will work to build relationships with key personnel within other Group functions. They will create a team ethos within their group of direct reports, facilitating the coaching and development of junior staff and working to create a positive environment within department.

This is an exciting time to join Eurocell. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced people manager, who can lead, motivate and develop a team of 6-8 Purchase Ledger Clerks to be the best that they can be, and to control their area of a busy Purchase Ledger function.

  • Manage a team of purchase ledger clerks and inputters
  • Manage team workloads, allocating a balanced portfolio of accounts to each clerk
  • Re-enforcing and overseeing query resolution process
  • Managing invoice queries, and ensuring resolution within appropriate time frames
  • Managing key accounts
  • Assisting with problem accounts
  • Acting as the first point of contact with Accounts and Procurement for that division
  • Identifying weaknesses in processes, and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Ensure supplier statement recs are completed accurately, and on a timely basis
  • Assist with the preparation and review of after-date invoice list

  • Recent and relevant Purchase Ledger experience is essential
  • Demonstrable supervisory or team leading experience is essential
  • SAP computer system experience would be useful
  • Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • Strong numerical skills and a high degree of accuracy with data
  • Highly organised and able to follow procedures
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to use initiative and follow logic
  • Ability to work successfully in a busy process-driven environment
  • AAT or similar accounting qualification could be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, planning and organisational skills
