We are currently recruiting a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Wast Hills.

We can consider candidates who are looking for 3 - 5 days per week, between Monday to Friday.

Cygnet Wast Hills is a CQC 'Outstanding' service that provides assessment and treatment for up to 25 men and women with a Learning Disability who are living with Autism. Individuals may be detained under the Mental Health Act, can present with additional challenges and may also have co-morbid needs.

The Opportunity...

In this role you will provide highly specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy / treatment programmes. You will also consider potential risks and social needs of the client group, relevant to their diagnosis.

Within this setting, you will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge, whilst supporting the clinical, nursing and direct care teams in making skilled evaluations and decisions about clinical options.

This role will be working as part of an established multi-disciplinary team (MDT) consisting of Medical and Allied Health Professionals (Consultant Psychiatrist, Specialty Doctor, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist), Nurses and Health Care Support Workers. You will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area and provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies.

As a HCPC Registered Psychologist, you will have a key role in the training and clinical supervision of an onsite Assistant Psychologist. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development along with the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.

You will have...

A Doctorate Level Qualification (BPS route or equivalent) in Clinical or Counselling Psychology along with HCPC Registration OR be within 3 months of obtaining HCPC Registration.

Experience of working with adults who have Autism / Learning Disabilities and knowledge of psychological assessment, treatment and therapies.

The ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Training and supervision experience is desirable.

Contracted hours: part or full time considered.
