My client has enjoyed a long and sustained period of growth which is set to continue over the next few years. The addition of a commercially orientated Finance Manager will play a pivotal part within this strategy. Reporting into the FD, this key appointment is with a long established, award-winning Kent business.

There are three main areas that the role will focus on. You'll work with the wider business team, ensuring that you support commercial decisions with sound financial insight and reporting. Production of a full set of management accounts (with analysis and commentary) alongside all statutory reporting requirements. You'll additionally look to develop both the small finance team and in conjunction with them, review processes, procedures and controls to ensure that the quality and timeliness of information to the business is further improved.

Outside of these areas, you'll oversee the transaction accounting, being on hand to help with any technical queries from the team and ensure all supplier payments and receipts are accurately handled. There will be various ad hoc project work with the FD - especially on new business ventures.

Candidates will be fully qualified, and need to have experience of, and be comfortable with, a 'hands on' flexible approach, with a willingness to be involved in the day to day finance. There is plenty of scope to improve the way the finance department operates and as such, anyone with process, system or procedure improvement would be very useful. Strong IT skills, with resilience and enthusiasm will go a long way.
