Our client are one of the largest agricultural and manufacturing companies in the UK and have recently acquired an Engineering company based Barrow in Furness.

Job Brief

To assist the business unit Managing Director and Senior Management Team, working as a business partner and credible member of the team. This will include managing all finance and accounting operations, coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and KPIs, analysing and reporting on variances, managing tax compliance processes, SAO compliance, and the monthly and year end accounts close processes. You must have a strong knowledge of long term contract accounting alongside an ability to understand commercial contracts and the associated risk.

Skills/Experience Required
  • Professionally qualified - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards and principles
  • Strong project/long term contract accounting background.
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends and financial forecasts
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Good working knowledge of commercial contracts, including NEC3
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with regulations and legislation
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel, and experience of finance systems
  • Excellent numerical skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong background in financial controls, with experience of controls improvement and optimisation
