Mechanical Engineer (Marine Industry)

£25,000 to £30,000 + Overtime (Realistic OTE between £35,000) + 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension

Mechanical Engineer required for established, family run business who run a busy marine workshop, restoring and repairing boats. The company have gone from strength to strength and are enjoying steady growth, they now need an engineer to join their team and work from the purpose built facility.

The successful candidate will be a competent mechanical engineer, those with experience working on diesel and or petrol engines, hydraulics and small generator or plant equipment are encouraged to apply. Electrical diagnostic skills are desirable. Candidates from plant, ex-forces, automotive or agricultural backgrounds transfer well; those from the marine sector will be at a strong advantage.

The role itself is extremely varied, those looking for a challenging and rewarding role with extensive on the job training are encouraged to apply. You will be working on marine vessels, conducting repair, assembly and installation work. You will rectifying any mechanical and electrical faults, making recommendations to customers and providing quotations for necessary work where required. Overtime will be available during peak seasons.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within an experienced, friendly team who will provide ongoing training and upskill the successful candidate. You will enjoy working in a purpose built facility on bespoke projects for customers.
