Information Security Assurance Analyst

Company: Old Mutual Wealth
Closing Date: 6 September 2019
Location: London/Southampton

The CISO team's goal is to keep our customers', colleagues', and organisation's information secure, through ensuring our technology, business processes and controls are secure by default and design, deploying key security capabilities, and through targeted training and awareness campaigns.

As part of that strategy, this role will deliver the assurance plan, and implement processes and activities to provide assurance that the Information Security Policy and associated standards and controls are in place and working effectively.

About us

Old Mutual Wealth is proud to be part of Quilter, a leading provider of advice, investments and wealth management around the world. We manage over £114.9 billion of investments on behalf of over 900,000 customers. We're here to create prosperity for the generations of today and tomorrow. We measure this not only by our ability to create wealth for clients, but also the positive impact we make on their lives and our broader contribution to the industry and society.

About the role

You will be responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of the information security assurance plan, as well as reviewing the controls in place to ensure their effectiveness, identify where improvements can be made, and provide reports on their operation.

You will be working with colleagues on projects and initiatives to deliver the security strategy, including the information security uplifts, completing appropriate information security reviews, and providing an input to the regular development and review of policies and standards.

As well as assisting with the identification, assessment and reporting of risks, e.g. through the information security review process, you will engage with the business units to understand their processes and procedures in order to assure their secure operation and collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities and information to enrich the assurance measures we collect, e.g. from the 3rd party assurance tool (3GRC), the security operations centre (SOC) and continuous controls monitoring (CCM) tool.

You must be able and willing to work with (and support) team members to ensure that what we deliver appropriately secures our information and information assets.

About you

No qualifications or certification required for this role. Should you have, or be willing to achieve, either of: CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, then this would certainly be advantageous, but not a pre-requisite. We are more focused on finding the right person with the relevant experience/willingness/eagerness to learn and build upon their career.

Experience of working in an information security function, knowledge and understanding of core information security principles, concepts and approaches, as well as an understanding of risk and risk management and knowledge of privacy regulations and legislation would be highly advantageous.

Experience of working in an information security and/or governance function, and providing assurance, management and/or metrics reporting, plus a passion for information security with the ability to build strong relationships across the business to further opportunities to collaborate and share good practice, would be highly advantageous.
