Process Manager- Precision Engineering

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Location: Cleckheaton

Hours: 7:30am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 3pm on Friday

Salary: £35,000- £40,000 p.a. + company benefits

Due to continued growth and investment, my client now has an exciting opportunity for a Process Manager to join their organisation in Cleckheaton.

My client is a highly reputable manufacturer of specialist, precision machined products.

The role

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Process Manager will be at the core of new product introductions and will see engineering processes through from cradle to grave. You will work closely with all areas of the business including sales, engineering, testing and quality. Responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing internal and external customers' technical and commercial enquiries to obtain accurate understanding of the requirements. This will involve defining project scope and deliverables and managing the project costing phase from start to finish
  • Undertaking detailed capability assessments on a job-by-job basis with existing Engineering and Sales Department. Retaining accurate records accordingly
  • Creating detailed tooling, process, timing estimation for the sales department
  • Following order conversion and utilising the capability assessment, undertake a New Product Introduction process working with Engineering and Production
  • Working with Production Engineers on CNC programming and routing including testing and QA sign off
  • Liaising with Planning and Production on job status and project timelines
  • Define and manage project scope. Define deliverables, create timelines, report status and manage engineering clarifications at a customer level including problem solving

Experience/ Skills Required
  • Excellent knowledge of CNC machining and programming processes
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret manufacturing techniques
  • Experience of estimating in regards to materials, labour and costs of engineering projects, is highly desirable
  • Ability to/ previous experience of, liaising with customers directly to resolve queries
  • Good level of mechanical engineering knowledge
  • Experience working with copper of nickel would be beneficial, but not essential
  • CAD/ CAM experience would be beneficial, but not essential
