Bright Horizons St Marys Preschool in Twickenham are currently recruiting an Before & After School manager.

The nursery is located just a short walk from Twickenham train station, Strawberry Hill and the town centre.

This role is term time, working 25 hours a week, 7:30-8:30am & 2:30-6:30pm Monday to Friday. The club provides care for 16 children age 4- 11 years.

You will have the opportunity to work with a great company with lots of chance to develop. The salary will be between £10- £11 per hour.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain all records relating to the management of the group ensuring confidentiality and data protection of the children, their families and members of staff.

- Liaise with the, ensuring that any money transactions are handled and documented as directed by the school's administrator.

- To be responsible for the day to day administration and record keeping that includes maintaining records of attendance and providing information returns and other appropriate records as required.

- To effectively manage the occupancy levels of the After School Club; managing the waiting list and offering child care places. Promoting and marketing the After-school Club effectively to maintain occupancy

- Develop professional working relationships with the school, all relevant professionals and authorities including the local authority and Ofsted - With support from the |Manager monitor and evaluate the quality of the service.

- Maintaining working relationships with other site users (particularly the school head teacher and the site cleaner)

- To ensure that adequate standards of safety and hygiene are maintained throughout the after school club, including the completion of appropriate risk assessments and recording and reporting of hazards and accidents.

- To ensure that all staff work within the policies and guidance and procedures of the schools' policies.

- To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the school's child protection and safeguarding policy. - To carry out any other duties which will be seen to enhance the work of the school's extended.

EXPERIENCE (ESSENTIAL):
  • Post qualified experience of working within the Early Years sector
  • Previous experience of working as a key person

EXPERIENCE (DESIRABLE):
  • Specific experience of working with 0-10 year age range
  • Team Leader experience
  • Experience of working and supporting children and families with additional needs

KNOWLEDGE (ESSENTIAL):
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Knowledge and understanding of wider legislative requirements for working with children

KNOWLEDGE (DESIRABLE):
  • Coaching and mentoring experience

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES (ESSENTIAL):
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and embrace new ways of doing things
  • Child Protection

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES (DESIRABLE):

Genuine desire and passion for ongoing learning and development

Ability to identify issues prior to escalation

QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL):
  • Full and relevant Level 3 and or above(equivalent) Childcare qualification
  • Current Paediatric First Aid

QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRABLE):
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in Team Leadership
