Our client, a well-established signage company, are looking to recruit a dynamic Financial Director to join their creative team, based in Aldershot, Hampshire. Trading since 1980, the next stage of our client's evolution is to appoint a Financial Director to build the finance function.

As the most senior finance employee, you will be responsible for providing effective control from a financial perspective and helping drive performance across the whole business to sustain and further development. You must ensure the decisions made by the business are financially informed and contribute to the strategic direction and general management of the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·Prepare the balance sheet for audit and management information for the current financial year.

·Lead in the management of the finance team to assist the credit controller and the bookkeeper.

·Improve credit control procedures to ensure there is regular follow up with clients to chase overdues on a weekly basis.

·Maintain a cash forecast after the agreement of collection targets with the credit controller.

·Streamline the administration in relation to all projects, in order to deliver efficiencies in the commercial team.

·Establish, maintain and upgrade all systems required to ensure the business complies with government legislation and regulation. Review and assess updates and improvement in systems as and when needed.

·Develop budget and planning process to inform management about the information they need to manage the business.

·Assemble revised forecasts for the financial year that reflect the latest actuals and most recent plans.

·Review the monthly balance sheet and report on key measures including debtor days; creditor days and return on assets employed.

·Lead the banking relationship and ensure the company has the appropriate levels of cash headroom required to operate.

·Oversee all company accounts and investments.

·Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported.

Qualifications Required

·Fully qualified member or an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification.

·Proven accounting experience with a history of progression.

·Experience with management of a finance team.
