Regional Project Manager - East Region Laboratory Medicine Programme

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to play a key role in the East Region Laboratory Medicine programme on a secondment or fixed term basis for 2 years.

The East Region, comprising NHS Borders, NHS Fife and NHS Lothian, has set out an ambitious programme of collaborative working which will deliver an integrated laboratory medicine service for the East of Scotland in line with the nationally agreed Laboratory Medicine Blueprint.As Regional Project Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering projects which include purchasing and implementing specialised equipment, new IT systems and service redesign across the East Region. You will be expected to shape these transformational projects through working collaboratively with key stakeholder to deliver short, medium and long term benefits.
You should have excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to work with a range of stakeholders at all levels, and negotiation and diplomacy skills which will help you to design and deliver the scale and pace of change required.
You should be educated to degree level with knowledge of service improvement tools and techniques. You should have high-level analytical skills and the ability to apply practical problem-solving in a complex environment.
Experience of working within the public sector and in a change environment is vital. You will be expected to lead and shape your projects, utilising knowledge and insights from subject matter experts, and evidencing success through monitoring and evaluation.
You will be required to work across the East Region Health Boards and at times across NHS Scotland, therefore the ability to travel and manage workload flexibly is essential.
