We are currently looking for a Careers Development Manager to join our popular client in Cranfield within the Student Experience Service Unit.

You will be focussed, innovative and committed to enhancing the experience of our students. The PSU is made up of the following services: Library, Student Advice Centre, Technology Enhanced Learning, Centre for Andragogy and Academic Skills and Careers, bringing together these key service areas to ensure an increasingly collaborative and focussed approach to enhancing the student experience at Cranfield.

As Careers Service Manager you will contribute to the employability of the University's students and alumni, by delivering careers and employability-related teaching, advice, information, guidance and coaching to students and graduates individually and in groups.
  • You will be responsible for conducting one-to-one guidance interviews on all aspects of careers work and topics related to personal and professional development to help students and recent alumni develop their skills in career choice, job search and career progression.
  • You will provide appropriate and up to date, sector specific, information, advice and guidance to students to students to support the achievement of their goals and proactively support the students in identifying their career plans, align their skills and understanding of themselves and develop and implement their career strategies.
  • You will apply creative approaches to the delivery of career management skills and customised curriculum-based careers teaching in order to maintain the interest and motivation of students.
  • You will decide what type and duration of intervention is most appropriate to an individual student's needs to support their career planning and decision-making through application of guidance skills, in connection with the Career Management Framework and the Head of Career Service Operations.

You must have the ability to work independently and enthusiastically without detailed supervision and to work in a student-centred way.

You will ideally be educated to degree level and you will have significant recent experience in a recruitment, training or careers guidance type role and a strong interest in working with diverse cultural groups, and in particular with international students.
