IT Test Service Manager (Service Management, Test, Functional) - Manchester

We are looking to hire a talented IT Test Service Manager (Service Management, Test, Functional) to join a brand new, exciting team in Manchester.

As part of this newly formed team, we are seeking an IT Test Service Manager (Service Management, Test, Functional). This is a key role within the Service Design and Transition directorate.

You will need to ensure that the Production Proving capability will enable our client to assure that the Total Systems are working as expected by being able to send service requests to DSP Systems and to Smart Meter devices installed specifically for Production Proving purposes as well as being able to receive signed pre-commands, alerts and responses under a number of user roles.

The capability will be used for production proving for health check monitoring, change programmes, release upgrades and to triage and replicate in-life faults to fast track Incident resolution and fix. Proving fixes following implementation.

Responsibilities for the IT Test Service Manager (Service Management, Test, Functional)

Be accountable for the Functional Production Proving function. Supporting all requirements for device testing for change and release programmes enabling a smooth transition to in-life Service Operations.
Will be responsible for setting up the team function and all aspects of what they do e.g. building processes that will evolve as the business demands change
Lead, grow and develop a core team of Functional Production Proving Technical Analysts building an experienced and dynamic function
Build strong and productive working relations as part of a matrix team with the wider Early Life Support, Programmes, Service Transition, Service Operations, Technical Operations and Problem Management to ensure to assure that the Total Systems are working as expected.
Will work closely with test, design and transition to ensure functionality is working as designed.
Be responsible for the seamless release of new software into production, without defects, where all Service Requests have been tested against all device types to provide Users with confidence in the system.
Responsible for health check monitoring, proactive anomaly detection, and proving the Total Systems end-to-end. Reporting of issues detected (ADT) and seeking Security Approvals.
Responsible for conducting audit reporting to Regulatory and the Security Sub Committee regarding usage by the function and providing insight into the usage
Will lead and champion operational and customer requirements creating an environment of challenge, support, knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.
Will own the relationship with our test lab partner to ensure all equipment is in-situ and operational for testing within agreed timescales in order to support change and release programmes
Experience needed for the IT Test Service Manager (Service Management, Test, Functional)

Demonstrable experience in a similar IT Service Management role (ideally within a highly regulated industry)
Experience within a production test environment
Excellent relationship, influencing and negotiating skills
People leadership and Matrix management
Problem solving and analytical skills
Making sense of complex information to inform critical decision making
