I'm currently recruiting for a manufacturing market leader who are seeking an IT Specialist to join their IT department.

My client is a European market leader and they are looking for an IT Specialist who will be an IT Network & Infrastructure Specialist.

Role:

The IT department is service-oriented and customer-centric, and therefore focuses on optimising the use of Information Systems to ensure the business can efficiently and effectively service our distributors and end-customers, and for the factory and warehouse to work efficiently.

The department consists of various persons, representing multiple disciplines. The primary responsibility of the role focuses on Service Desk and Deskside Support, Systems Management, and Network and Infrastructure related activities. The role reports locally to the Business Solutions Manager and is based in Blackpool. Content wise the role collaborates closely with the Manager IT Services based in the Netherlands.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Service Desk & Deskside Support

*1st and 2nd Line support for the three UK-based locations (~150 seats).

*Handling tickets submitted by potentially all employees. Ticket registration, prioritising, and providing support to resolve the incidents and problems at hand.

*Responsible for all communication related to the ticket - from opening to final closure.

*Passing tickets to 2nd or 3rd Line where relevant to the severity or discipline of the issue.

*Contributing to the further professionalisation of the Service Desk in line with ITIL standards.

2. Systems Management / Network- & Infrastructure

*Installation and configuration of new Hardware and Operating Systems.

*Monitoring and managing systems for availability, stability, performance, and security.

*Keeping all OS current and secure through the monthly patching policy.

*Daily review and control of the various logs and backups (Veeam).

*Managing the AVAYA telephony system.

*Participation in projects and migration processes, providing technical input and advice.

*Executing upon the IT Security Policy.

*Documentation: Contributing to the Disaster/Recovery Plan, Policies & Procedures document, Service Catalogue, and Service Level Agreements.

*Handling vendors and third parties; co-responsible for HW/SW acquisition.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrable knowledge, experience, and preferably certification on:

*Microsoft Windows Server and VMWare.

*Routers, Switches, Servers, SAN, et cetera.
