We are currently working with a world leading life sciences organisation who are on the verge of launching a ground breaking drug. As they enter a crucial transition period from being academically-led to a more commercial model, they are looking for a new Chief HR Officer to review and improve Organisational Design to ensure they are fit for a potential future "event".

This person will sit on the Senior Leadership Team, reporting into an impressive Chief Executive and working closely with board-level, global industry experts. You will support a workforce of highly educated academics to become much more commercially aware and inspire a new set of behaviours across the organisation.

Based in Oxford, this person will need to be visible in the office on a weekly basis (minimum 4-days per week).

Key responsibilities;
  • Act as the key HR strategic and operational partner to the CEO, Board and Leadership Team across the UK and US.
  • Shape and Implement the HR strategy and projects that will support the organisation facilitate a change agenda, as the organisation moves from being research focused to transition towards commercialisation.
  • Advise in line with the 'RemCo' committee to evaluate and implement compensation and benefits structures and programs which address local markets
  • To lead on identifying the training and development needs across all business groups, including reviewing the Academy Training Program
  • Responsible for advising and leading on the implementation of the new HR system.
  • Apply leadership and influencing skills to drive better behaviours, aligned to the company values.

Skills & Experience;
  • Degree educated and Chartered member of the CIPD.
  • Proven HR-leader in Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a global HR environment (preferably US).
  • Ability to collaborate with business leaders to develop and deliver an effective and robust HR strategy.
  • Will need to be resilient, courageous, tough-minded, commercially astute, with the ability to appropriately push back and challenge.
