Commercial Insurance Renewals Executive - Maidstone, Kent - up to £45,000 plus bonus

Due to continued expansion our client is recruiting within the busy and successful renewals team. The role is office based and within the thriving commercial insurance broker market.

You will service a book of clients within their insurance needs across a range of niche products including the construction industry and local commercial business.
You will continue to grow and expand your book of business; they have ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years.

The Role
70 % Renewals - Take responsibility for a number of renewals each month (both client facing and telephone based), these will also include "Key Accounts". Obtain up dated information from client, negotiate with Insurers and sell benefits of renewal to clients. Clients from a wide range of industries including contractors / motor fleet. Premium level £ 500 - £ 30,000. Proactive role. target 92% retention
10% New business. Reactive role providing quotes for existing clients e.g. excess layers, cross selling additional policies.
20% Commercial Administration - Deal direct with clients, advise on and manage mid term alterations / policy changes. Set up computer records, check and issue documents to clients, check incoming proposal forms, diary management, renewal re-broking and negotiation with insurers, setting up policy records, creating client schedules
The % split between the various categories can be varied depending upon the aptitude and experience of the candidate.
90% of time office based - 10% external client visits.

Salary will be dependent upon skills, experience and knowledge. Assistance is offered to undertake the Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications (optional after at least passing probation). External and internal training will be provided.

Key skills required
The successful applicant will have a confident telephone manner, excellent communicator and a minimum of 5-years commercial insurance experience, gained within an Insurance Broking environment.

The successful candidate is likely to be a self-starter who enjoys taking responsibility, making decisions and working efficiently under pressure and minimum supervision.

The role would suit candidates with following transferable interests & experience.
An experienced account handler looking to progress into more sales orientated role, but without the pressure of new business targets.
A new business sales executive who views client service / satisfaction as a priority, Views building long term relationships as important. Enjoys talking to clients, building relationships but enjoys the cut and thrust of doing the deal.
