Overall Purpose of Job:
To manage contracts through the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning stages. The role will require the individual to establish and maintain a sound customer relationship, whilst seeking opportunity of maximising profit and offering technical support within the group's core business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage projects in a professional manner ensuring that company name is held in high regard within the industry.
* Ensure Projects are dealt with in a timely and commercial manner.
* Seek to maximise profitability both through cost effective purchasing and timely project delivery.
* Ensure the company is protected at all times by timely and accurate records & documentation.
* Ensure liaison with other departments to maintain customer support when needed.
* Provide support to commercial and sales if so required at pre-contract meetings.
* Provide technical assistance to both internal and external clients.
* Protect the company's assets against loss, damage, misuse and negligence.
* Manage time effectively between sites and the main office.
* Working on a variety of projects within a short period of time.
* Ensure that the design & maintenance of the groups systems meets legislation and health and safety.
* Support & maintain the companies Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental Systems & Procedures.
* Manage site programs to ensure a positive cash flow is achieved.
* Carry out site visits in person to ensure the projects are kept on program.
* Submissions of timely, accurate project specific documentation.
* Evaluating and resolving problems on and off site in a timely manner.
* Ensure timely agreements & accurate submissions for project variations
* Management of Subcontract labour/resource.
* Manage and maintain new suppliers and quality of same.
* Assist in the technical requirements of systems in development and cost effective solutions.
* Support Contracts Manager and Deputise if required.
* Attend external technical & sales meetings as and when necessary.
* Promote the Servicing/Maintenance side of the business when attending final commissioning.
* To keep abreast of changes in legislation and advice other departments accordingly.
* Offering feedback on future product development, features and functions.
Essential
Minimum 5 years' experience managing either Mechanical or Electrical projects.
Experience managing multiple projects.
Experience managing sub-contractors.
Site experience.
CSCS Card.
Driving Licence.
Desirable
Mechanical or Electrical HND/NVQ/Degree or similar.
Qualification in Project Management (Prince 2 or AMPA).
SSSTS or SMSTS Qualified.
Package - Salary £40-£45k, including company car, mobile phone, laptop, pension
