Introducing Love 2 Read

An innovative and exciting programme driven by the astonishing statistic that 1 in 5 School children are unable to read. Supply Desk's Love 2 Read programme aims to raise attainment in Primary and Secondary Pupils by providing 2 sessions a week (20 minute slots) per child. The programme has had proven success already, where pupils have improved their reading age by 3 years.

Love 2 Read is for you if...

You have a passion for reading and empowering those that struggle to do so
You are committed to developing a child's reading ability and helping them reach their potential
You are interested in pursuing a career in Teaching but lack the classroom experience
What is Love 2 Read?

Love 2 Read is designed for pupils aged 6-15
20 minute sessions, twice a week per pupil as to not impact the child's learning elsewhere
Delivered by Teaching Assistants or Teachers that have been Love 2 Read trained through Supply Desk
Structured 1:1 intervention for pupils with below average attainment
Proven to double rates of progress
The role:

1:1 support or small group reading support
Full training provided through Supply Desk
Ideal for someone looking for a route into teaching to gain classroom/ Teaching experience
Ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants looking to further their experience
Gratification from helping students having difficulties with reading achieve above their expectations
Candidate Specification:

Must have Grade C or above in English and Maths GCSE
Passion for providing support
Looking for classroom/teaching experience prior to Teacher Training
Available for September 2018 start
