Business Manager - Construction Research Programme

Greater London - with travel/home working element

£40-45,000 plus competitive benefits

This new position comes to market as a result of a innovate industry transformation programme aimed at transforming the construction sector within the UK. The Idea? To harness the cutting-edge technology and processes seen within the manufacturing sector in order to increase the competitiveness of the UK's construction and Infrastructure sectors.

Funded by the UK's innovation agency the programme will see 3 main government, academic and industry partners collaborate to successfully deliver the programme. Joining as Business manager you will be key to the programme's success and responsible for managing and delivering core business operations.

As the central POC for communication between the 3 partners you will proactively ensure their collaborative and cohesive work approach. This will include travel between the different sites, mainly London, followed by Cambridge with additional to travel to Coventry and potentially other locations.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Provide a single POC for inter-centre communication ensuring a cohesive work approach
Collating information from multiple sources and compiling internal programme reports, this will include project work plans, RAG status, financial reporting and monthly progress reports.
Supporting the senior management team by developing presentations and proposals, taking minutes, assisting with quarterly reports and helping to drive delivery of actions.
Manage all programme documentation, maintaining company SharePoint, supporting document updates and meeting governance requirements.
Building strong relationships with external partners including high level government members
Coordinating senior managers and directors ensuring they get key reports and other actions required completed on time.

This role will suit a highly organised business/operations/senior office manager or similar with 5+ years of experience. Strategic experience and strong leadership skills in relation to partnership working and stakeholder management is key. It's essential you have exceptional literacy and grammar skills and you need to be competent writing and producing reports to a high level. This will include detailed use of excel, as well as creating and presenting presentations. Your role will also include an element of project management.

Further to this any experience running R&D programmes, including the paperwork, legislation and report writing this requires would be highly beneficial. As would any prior knowledge of the construction sector though this is not essential as this will not be a technical role.

In return you will work for a high growth business and get to contribute toward innovate industry transformation within the construction sector and its resulting positive social outcomes. You will work a flexible 36 hour week but its critical you are able to travel.

The successful applicant for this role will likely need to gain security clearance so you will need to have lived in the UK for 5+ years
