Senior Financial Accountant - £45,000-£55,000 - Global PLC Business - Bedfordshire

A global engineering and manufacturing business is currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to be a part of the Finance function of a UK subsidiary.

Given the global scope and international presence of this multi-bn turnover business, you will have plenty of opportunities to progress internally and work with a massive range of stakeholders, both within Finance and elsewhere in the business.

You will be responsible for applying your in-depth knowledge of accounting principles to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports. As a strong technical accountant, you will maintain and oversee the control of accounts and monitor areas including expenses, tax, payments and income.

Excellent business to work for with a real opportunity to put your own stamp on how things are done and make significant improvements to existing accounting processes. This role would be especially well suited to a practice-trained accountant looking for their first move into industry. There is also an opportunity here to take on a team of junior accountants, and support their development, once you've had the chance to bed into the role.

You will be working in a team with a number of audit-trained colleagues, who will understand your strengths and your weaknesses and afford you the time and training to make it a seamless transition.

Senior Financial Accountant - Key Responsibilities

- Stay on top of financial processes and procedures and implement any changes in accounting policy.
- Manage the financial controls process and maintain a rigours financial control framework.
- Support UK tax reporting requirements (corporation tax, intrastat, VAT etc...)
- Build relationships with internal and external audit teams to meet audit requirements.
- General accounting including cost accounting, management accounts packs, stat accounts etc.
- Input into month end reporting requirements including balance sheet recs, prepayments and accruals
- Prepare balance sheet and P&L statements, consolidated financial statements and other reports as needed.

You will be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant, ideally with a Practice background or a very strong technical accounting background from within industry. You will be able to build strong working relationships across multi-functional teams and have experience of working in ERP systems

This is a role which has a big focus on process-improvement, so you will likely be someone who has a keen eye for detail and where improvements can be made in existing processes. With the opportunity to manage a team, you will be someone who enjoys mentoring and developing people.
