The Role

Hayes + Storr are looking for an experienced and skilled Private Client Lawyer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding department.

You will be joining an experienced team handling a wide variety of private client work, as well as supporting clients referred by other sectors of the business including our specialist agricultural, commercial and property teams. We are looking for someone with an enthusiasm for this area of work and drive and ambition to build up their own expertise as well as increasing the profile of this locally well-regarded department. This is a fantastic chance to take on a fresh challenge!

The key responsibilities of a Private Client Lawyer include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing legal advice on a variety of matters such as investments, taxation, estate management, wills and testamentary issues
  • Drafting wills, executing the terms of the will in the instance of death, and the subsequent disbursement of properties and assets
  • Helping clients to look after and grow their wealth, locally or internationally, applying tax laws whenever required
  • Providing legal services for registration, restructuring, creating charters or trust deeds

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Private Client Lawyer:
  • Ideally at least three years' experience in private client, including wills, tax and estate planning, probate and trusts
  • An aptitude for understanding rules and regulations in various jurisdictions and structuring matters in a manner that is most beneficial to their client
  • A good understanding of the foreign markets where clients hold their assets and funds
  • Effective communication skills and a strong ability to build working relationships both with clients and other team members
