I am recruiting for an enthusiastic and compassionate teaching assistant for a specialised school near Caterham, who offers a highly individualised curriculum really focusing on the personal needs of every child. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a school with amazing facilities, supporting children with a range of learning difficulties (Epilepsy, Autism, Neurological conditions). You would be promoting the independence of students between the age of 6-25 through the use of sensory and other creative learning styles.

Responsibilities:
-Assisting students during class by tracking their progress
-Liaising with class teacher to lessons run smoothly
-Enabling learners to access the curriculum
-Supporting the pastoral needs of the learners
-Being an active part in creating a positive learning environment
-Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day
-Using your interests to engage learners in learning
-Supporting with the students personal care

Key skills and experience needed for this role:
-Experience working with people with special needs
-Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties including epilepsy and autism
-Have an understanding of students with emotional needs
-Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
-The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
-Be flexible in your approach to education.
-Own means of transport is essential
