National Quarry Design Manager

A leading national business are currently looking for a Quarry Design Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

The role

You will be responsible for the provision of Quarry Design Services, and provision of expert advice to the wider business unit including quarry operational design and mining engineering; ensuring the maximisation of performance and financial return of the company's significant land and mineral assets.
  • Application of relevant geological policies, standards and best practice across the Region to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and maintain the company's licence to operate.
  • Provide specialist operational mining engineering advice including production of Quarry Development Plans to ensure quarries are developed in a manner that is operationally cost effective, safe and maximises the performance and financial return of the company's land and mineral assets.
  • Supporting a Competent Person in the calculation and reporting of annual mineral reserve and resources statements in accordance with International reporting policies and protocols.
  • Produce mineral quality distribution plans and models.
  • Produce effective, safe and fully optimised quarry designs encompassing both tips and excavations.
  • Production of Quarry Development Plans.
  • Minimise risk of prosecution of the company for safe operational design.
  • Support the National and Regional Development Strategies.
  • Deliver on Safety Standards relating to the stability of all Quarries.
  • Participate in production of Mineral Reserve & Resource Reports to feed into National and Regional Reporting.
  • Develop strong relationships across all business units to allow correct decision process.

You will ideally have
  • Extensive previous experience in quarry design and mining engineering.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislations, and the requirements to maintaining the company's licence to operate
  • Experience of assisting in the calculation and reporting of annual mineral reserve and resources statements in accordance with International reporting policies and protocols
  • Good interpersonal and management skills to allow you to develop strong relationships across the business and externally.
