Role: BI Team Leader

Location: Redhill, Surrey

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits

This might be the perfect role for you!

The Client:

My client is one of the UKs leading Gas & Electricity suppliers to the Industrial, Commercial and Business consumers.

As a BI Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
  • Lead and mentor the BI Development team.Ensuring 1 to 1's are completed together with objectives and appraisals.
  • Manage key business stakeholders.
  • Set and manage the team's priorities and workload including the offshore team.
  • Project manage multiple reporting projects.
  • Forecast resource allocation, so you can plan for pipeline projects.
  • Manage the Marval and Jira queue in line with business priorities.
  • Management of the MI Gas and Power Batches that are critical to the business day.
  • Management of 3rd party application and communication including management of software maintenance and upgrades.
  • Develop new standards and guidelines to be used in the BI and Reporting team.
  • Implement new reporting techniques and tools .
  • Keep existing reporting tools up to date with a forward schedule of change for any upgrades.

The technology that you will be working with includes:
  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools Business Objects and/or QlikView Or Qlik Sense and Informatica.
  • Experience using data warehouse/analytical tools for business purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of Business core processes/data required to drive those processes.
  • Strong understanding of source data (its strengths/weaknesses/semantics/formats).
  • Proven capability with Oracle PL/SQL, Informatica, Business Objects and Qlik.
  • Good technical understanding of database & tuning (Oracle).
  • Understanding big data concepts and databases e.g. MongoDB.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems.

Skills & Experience you will bring with you:
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in a software development position and team leadership.
  • Proven delivery track record for full life-cycle project development and implementations (Agile & Waterfall).
  • An awareness and appreciation of new emerging technologies and standards being adopted within the IT industry and their potential benefits to any business.
  • A thorough understanding of Oracle & SUN mainstream development technologies & tools.
  • Good understanding of the UK Utilities market.
