Role Summary:

Travelopia has a significant multi-year investment plan to deliver a technology-enabled transformation. The technology roadmap is central to the overall group strategy and includes centrally managed initiatives, enterprise-wide programmes and brand led projects.

The PMO role is pivotal to the successful delivery of this transformation and is responsible for ensuring that all projects and programmes adhere to Travelopia best practice across investment appraisal, delivery and benefits realisation. The PMO will provide transparency to the CTO and Executive Leadership Team to ensure investments are focused on the correct themes, are being directed effectively and are focusing on the delivery of business benefits.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead the portfolio programme governance framework managing the overall performance of the portfolio and the intake of projects into the portfolio, including recommendations to realign, continue or close projects as necessary to ensure effective and dynamic control of the IT investment programme.
  • To ensure the principles of good portfolio management are in place across the business, working collaboratively with the wider group IT teams, Architecture, Information Security rand Finance teams to ensure adherence to portfolio governance processes.
  • To ensure that the portfolio effectively contributes to the company strategy. Manage an IT investment appraisal process across the Group to ensure the most effective utilisation of investment funding. Ensure projects are aligned to the strategic plans of the Group and relevant business units, and have clearly defined and measurable benefits with robust benefits realisation plans in place.
  • To manage the overall portfolio value, measuring and tracking the benefits realisation plans and results. To maintain the library of portfolio artefacts ensuring that the roadmap, risks & issues are effectively managed and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive reports and facilitate monthly steering committee reviews of the Technology Roadmap Steering Committee. Effectively communicate steering committee actions, agreements and decisions across the business ensuring implementation.
  • To identify, assess and resolve dependencies across the portfolio across scope, solutions & deliverables and resourcing. Providing oversight across Technology teams to ensure status, risks, issues and constraints are identified and managed.
  • To lead a robust and ongoing business case evaluation of all projects to deliver effective authorisation and control of the portfolio, including authorising changes in objectives, budget or benefits realisation. To maintain a library of proposed, inflight and completed business cases and benefits realisation plans across the full portfolio.
  • To act as the champion for effective portfolio management across the business, mentoring IT leadership in good practice

What we are looking for:
  • Similar experience (Portfolio, Programme & Project Management) gained within a distributed organisation
  • A background of working within a fast-paced, consumer focused organisation ensuring pragmatic governance and controls are in place fit for the organisation
  • Works well in a team, building working relationships across functions
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Excellent Stakeholder management & networking skills, across multiple functions, business units, external stakeholders

The role will be principally based in Crawley with travel to UK & international Businesses required on an adhoc basis.
