An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly growing family run business based in Royston on a part time basis. Supporting the business in all day to day aspects of finance, covering sales ledger, purchaser ledger, and credit control. This is a hands on and integral role working with a small and approachable team. You'll be a versatile accounts assistant working in a stand alone role reporting directly to the Finance Director covering the following duties;

Sales ledger
  • Daily processing of BACS receipts and cheques
  • Investigating unallocated receipts, liaising with customers
  • Daily processing of invoices
  • Raising credit notes and requesting refunds
  • Dealing with customer queries

Purchase ledger
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Processing expenses
  • Liaising with suppliers
  • Entering and allocating supplier payments
  • Reconciling supplier balances

Credit Control
  • Managing aged balances
  • Meeting KPI's
  • Opening customer credit accounts and review credit limits
  • Identifying high risk customers

Month end
  • Reporting
  • Account reconciliation

Work based and behavioural Competencies

You'll be confident in communicating with various stakeholders from a wide range of industries, both verbally and in writing, whilst building and maintaining good relationships - being both professional and approachable. You'll need to have excellent time management skills and have the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload. Provide excellent customer service in a prompt and timely manner. Strong IT skills with a working knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel.

Experience/Qualification

Ideally AAT qualified, but will consider relevant experience in place of qualifications. Preferably experienced in both ledgers along with credit control. 2 years minimum experience in a similar role.

Job Offer

This is a part time permanent position, hours are negotiable and flexible, but ideally 20-25 hours across Monday to Friday. Salary is negotiable dependent on experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment with the option to develop your skills and career further.
