Contract length: 6 months (initial)

We are looking for Senior IT Auditor contractor to join the internal audit team of one of our expanding clients in their Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge within IT and be experienced with audit, risk management and efficient negotiating.

As part of your main responsibilities you will provide internal audit in accordance with the client's internal standards, as well as the professional standards of all authorities and relevant bodies. In addition, you would be responsible for the completion of the audit assignments and the quality of advice provided to management.

One of the main premises of the role is the development and maintenance of external and internal relationships, so if you have previous stakeholder relationship management experience, good understanding of risk and audit, as well as background and expert knowledge in IT and want to join one of the well established asset management global leaders, this is the right role for you!

Daily Tasks:
  • Planning and managing for the successful delivery of designated audits and reviews of IT systems in accordance with the quarterly audit plan
  • Identifying practical remedial actions with management, followed by the development of an action plan
  • Producing high quality draft reports that contain insight and root cause analysis for review by the IT Audit Manager, and coordinating the final report for issue, including liaison with stakeholders to agree remedial actions
  • Providing advice on controls and risk management and other consultancy services as required by the business and management
  • Supervising, coaching and monitors junior colleagues as directed by the IT Audit Manager
  • Participating in business-led risk management workshops
  • Following professional and company quality standards
  • Ensuring all work is adequately resourced and completed in a timely manner
  • Providing timely updates on the status of audit points as part of the follow up process
  • Undertaking special projects and investigations
  • Providing support to all business functions (incl. recruitment and performance appraisal within the team) as required

Must-Have Experience:
  • Core IT and audit experience in financial services environment
  • Proven skills in leading and delivering audit assignments
  • Relationship management
  • Detailed understanding of the financial services industry
  • Clear understanding of the potential regulatory impact of findings

Qualifications and knowledge:
  • Accountant (CA/ACCA) or
  • Internal Audit professional qualification (CMIIA) or
  • IT Senior Auditor (QiCA, CISA) and
  • Graduate level of education
