Hampshire Supply Service are proud to be working with Hampshire County Council for their recruitment.

We are currently looking for an Interim Education Manager for an SEN Provision in Winchester. The role will start in September 2019 and will be initially for the Autumn Term with the option to become permanent.

About the Role:

The Education Manager is responsible for leading the development and delivery of a high quality and accessible curriculum programme. As the provision caters for students aged 12-18 with Mental Health difficulties, experience within this is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the effective planning and delivery of high quality, accessible curriculum programmes that meet the identified needs of learners - inspiring them to engage, attain and progress.
Create and maintain a safe, accessible and positive learning environment for all learners.
Promote and maintain positive behaviours, setting clear and high expectations for attendance, punctuality and behaviours for learning.
Operate as a member of the Service Management Team, reporting to the Head of Service (Hampshire Achieves), and participating in regular supervision and the annual performance management process.
Line manage staff: undertake regular supervision; set and monitor performance targets through the annual performance management regime; management of misconduct or grievance matters, should they arise.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status and/or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status
Higher Level Leadership and Management Qualification (e.g. NPQH)
Successful experience of managing a high performing education and skills provision
Successful experience of working with vulnerable learners including those with SEND and poor mental wellbeing.
Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across a team/s.
Successful resource and budget management experience.
