This role will coordinate and lead financial management input and processes across the market for HRG Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden). This will include being responsible for accurately reporting all financial results against target and providing the local business, management team and Group with insightful analysis and commentary. Key to this will be to build and develop effective working relationships with the Nordic GM, management team and other key contacts in the business. The individual will partner with the business to translate financial reports into action plans to improve the financial performance of the Nordic business.The role is responsible for the integrity of the P/L and balance sheet. Also, the control environment and the responsibility for ensuring external and internal audits.
KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting agreed with Nordic management
  • Building effective relationships with key business managers and ensure all financial reporting is timely and accurate
  • Encourage business to develop and deliver on agreed financial performance improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for the Nordic control environment, balance sheets and cash flow reporting
  • Responsible for the local client finance team.Development and management of three senior finance staff

TASKS
  • Sign off the monthly financials with senior managers and prepare reports to management
  • Compilation of timely and insightful financial reporting and commentary to local, European and Group teamsEnsure P&L and KPIs are prepared in a timely manner and fully explained
  • Ensure financial performance corrective actions plans and plans for growth are robust and implemented
  • Work with the Nordic business team to understand cost drivers and identify trends within the business
  • Lead and be responsible for the forecast and budget processes.Ensure that Nordic reporting structures are maintained and reflect the reporting lines within the business.Work with the Nordic and UK finance teams to provide leadership for the Nordic external audit
  • Ensure all government statistical returns, VAT and tax returns prepared by the financial accounts team are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.Support and develop the local client finance team. Ad-hoc project financial management planning and analysis

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • You will have a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)Experience and Attributes
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of business including working with different countries and cultures
  • The ability to influence numerous contacts over whom you will not have direct responsibility
  • Must be numerate and have proven Excel skills
  • Some knowledge of Agresso and Hyperion preferred, though not essential
  • Ability to analyse and summarise high volume transactional data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, hard working, and committed
  • Confident and self motivated, able to travel internationally and to deal with process change management
  • Ability to think laterally and outside of boundaries
