Here at Hermes we're looking for a Project Accountant to join our rapidly growing Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to provide financial support to the wider business as we go through a period of growth.

Your main responsibilities will be to approve, capture and monitor the progress of project spends, investigating variances where needed and ensuring a close link is maintained with the Programme Managers to verify reported spends.

You will also monitor benefits arising from projects and report / investigate variances to agreed business cases.

As you will be working with multiple stakeholders across the business including our Programme Managers, Business Owners and the wider Finance team, the ability to build and withstand strong relationships and excellent communication skills are key.

You will be responsible for producing monthly updates to support our CFO's and CIO's main board packs, highlighting risks and seeking out opportunities for savings where appropriate.
You will also attend monthly programme board meetings to communicate our latest Finance position, whilst also working with our Finance Business Partners to provide an insightful view on any variances.

Other ad-hoc duties will include:

• Complete month end accounting and analysis including the Fixed Asset register
• Own Depreciation reporting and explain any variances to budget
• Own budgeting / forecasting process for depreciation

You must be a qualified accountant, (at least 2 years PQE) and have had worked in a very similar role within a fast-paced environment such as Hermes.

As numbers are our thing it goes without saying you must be highly numerate with a high level of attention to detail, excellent PC Skills, including comprehensive experience with MS Excel features (vLookup, pivot tables etc) are also required as well as having an innovative approach to analyse and resolve business issues.
