Please be advised we have an urgent requirement needed for our leading Publishing and Media client, looking for a Senior Project Manager to manage the technical projects occurring within their London campuses - such as hardware, circuits, voice and video conferencing. This individual will be chairing steering committees, engaging with architects and contracts (understanding the build sequence), managing the finance (purchase order) and ensuring deliverables are being met.

The team is split across both the UK and US, the interview process will be two stages (1st virtual // 2nd F2F).

Job Summary/Description:
  • Manages technical projects and all aspects of various technical scope (focus on delivery of hardware, circuits, voice, video conferencing and network infrastructure) required to build or refresh London campus offices.
  • Responsible for the planning, delivery, monitoring and closeout of all aspects of network, voice, video conferencing and user technology in support of the project scope.
  • Responsible for delivering against the defined project scope, schedule and budget.
  • This position must be familiar with the project objectives as well as the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
  • This position must be familiar with the various technologies being implemented.
  • Creates the technology project schedules to ensure timely completion with the overall construction schedule.
  • Creates and manages the communication plan, action log and risk mitigation.
  • Communicates with project leaders and/or sponsors and functional area Managers regarding status of specific projects.

Minimum Required Skills:
  • Effectively communicates, verbally and in written form.
  • Facilitates technical meetings and working sessions to generate tasks, schedules, risks, etc.
  • The ideal candidate will be a project management professional experienced in all aspects of technology to support office infrastructure, including a general knowledge in circuits, voice, video conferencing and network applications.
  • Comfortable and effective at leading geographically dispersed technical resources and communicating with program and organizational leadership.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize among competing priorities.
  • Effectively communicates across various levels of individual project contributors, project and program leadership, and organization leadership.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure and IT applications projects required.
  • Strong client facing and relationship building skills are required as the role will involve interaction with Vendors, Construction Traders, Architects, Facilities Teams, Business Teams and Technical Operations leaders. Capable of delivering unfavourable news in a professional way.
  • Able to manage expectations of the project team. Flexibility and capability to work across multiple time zones.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheets as a project planning and scheduling tool. Experienced in the use of JIRA as a user.
  • Able to efficiently find and update project information within the tool. Comfortable in the use of Microsoft Products and efficient with Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with general construction activities and telecommunication carrier as related to circuit and network installation. Experience with office (technology only) type consolidation, relocation, decommission and brand-new locations.
  • Ability to organize various sources of data into coherent plan to deliver, including schedule, resource plan, budget and identify risks and risk strategy.
  • Maintain a delivery focused role, involving migration planning, prioritization of tasks and resolution of issues to deliver per the corporate property schedule.
  • Maintains oversight of the delivery team, ensuring consistency and quality across planning artifacts and key outputs.
  • Identify risks and issues, works to develop effective resolution plans, and escalates in a timely manner for needed program and organizational leadership help. Coordinates resource allocations across the team.
  • Coordination of third-party resources involved across delivery teams when applicable.
  • A working understanding of CapEx and OpEx spend. Ability to request purchase orders, track vendor invoices and track actuals against the project budget.

Additional Job Details:
  • Travel within London metro and surrounding area required.

Minimum Education Requirement:
  • Undergraduate degree in: Business Information Systems, Business Management, Computer Science or related technology field of study. PMP Certification preferred.
