Claims Handler

Our client is a family run business built on core values of honesty, accuracy and transparency. They provide a service to the household, commercial and insurance marketplace. They are a nationwide company with our head office based in Hazel Grove, Stockport.

They have an opportunity in our claims team to recruit an individual who will be responsible for managing their own portfolio of claims. This role will involve working as part of a close-knit team and working to a high standard in accordance with current processes.

About the Claims Hander Job:

This full-time opportunity of 40 hours per week (working hours will be discussed at interview) and will be between Monday - Friday 08.00 - 20.00 and Saturday 09.00 - 17.00. Saturday's are done via a rota and you will be expected to work one Saturday per month.

Working within a busy team, it will be your remit to assist in the presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims. You will be working with Account Executives and Loss Adjusters to progress the claims and organising the appropriate documentation.

About you:

Although claims experience is not essential, you must have previous Customer Service experience and be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication, influencing & relationship building skills, along with:
  • Good problem solving & forward planning skills
  • Excellent team work ethic and a desire to achieve results
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that company processes & procedures are put in place
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Be patient, polite and flexible when challenged
  • Excellent IT skills and telephone manner
