Due to further growth within the organisation, our very well established and respected client based in the Beccles area, currently have an excellent permanent career opportunity for an experienced and creative Mechanical Design Engineer.

Working primarily within an office setting, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative design team, creating designs for mechanical devices/equipment associated with special purpose bespoke machinery. You will also work alongside engineers and other professionals, to create and enhance the mechanical schemes, which form a vital part of the products produced, whilst contributing to the evolution of organisation's processes. The post holder shall design innovative and progressive mechanical designs, which contribute to positioning the company as a market leading partner in their field of expertise.

Responsibilities will include engaging in regular meetings with the Project Management Team, Engineers and Clients, to understand and execute the mechanical requirements of projects, collaborate with colleagues to produce mechanical layouts, for machinery and associated components. You will produce mechanical designs that are compliant with and conform to, all relevant Codes of Practice, Company and Industry Standards and that will remain compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations and company procedures. Other responsibilities include producing Mechanical Parts Lists/Bill of Materials, for all mechanical aspects of a project, providing support to the sales team for technical information/quotations and testing/modifying models under a variety of conditions.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, detail orientated, analytical and creative Mechanical Design Engineer, who will possess excellent all round communication skills at all levels. You will be educated to degree level or a significant mechanical engineering background and will be fully proficient in the use of Solidworks and AutoCAD software, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Salary is negotiable depending upon skills and experience and closing date for applications is Friday 23rd August.
