The IT System Management & Exploitation Specialist is a new role within AHC IT. IT will be responsible for the BAU and strategic management of the systems. With BAU focussed on system admin type activities and strategic on the expansion of systems use and functional exploitation across the organisation.

Working with the Operational Manager & team in relation to BAU activities and issues/incidents and with the BA/PM role for the implementation of new functionality. For new systems the role will be responsible for ensuring that all service requirements for the system/application and included within the project scope.

The role combines both technical and business elements with the need to understand the business operating models and processes to ascertain where existing systems/applications can best meet the business needs.

The role will report to the Head of IT, AHC.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

The following is not necessarily an exhaustive list but identifies the main areas:
  • Oversee the delivery & administration of the systems/applications (e.g. set-up, access, user education, documentation)
  • Act as an escalation point for systems/applications issues/incidents and liaison with vendors (e.g. Microsoft) where needed.
  • Update service desk tickets where allocated.
  • Build the teams Knowledgebase, including the development and update of documentation & ensure knowledge dissemination.
  • Working with the Operations Manager & Security & Compliance lead to ensure any processes/documents are defined/updated as required.
  • Working with the wider team and AHC IT head to ensure that all projects/activities are logged in the portfolio/tracker and updated (larger projects will be managed by the BA/PM role).
  • Working with the Operations Manager for resource allocation where required.
  • Identification of system/application enhancement and exploitation opportunities and working with the BA/PM to build business cases for change.
  • Working with the BA/PM on the derivation of business process maps and requirements.
  • Working with the Operational Manager for the compiling of communications/announcements as required.
  • Inputting agenda items for team operational and strategic meetings.
  • Task management of resource allocated to system/application activities.
  • Delivering & overseeing project activities as defined that may include; scoping & planning, vendor management, update communications, work stream lead & technical delivery.


You must have the following experience:
  • Team/task management.
  • Good grasp of technologies both Business and IT focussed
    • Specifically Office365 suite & Box & applications used in the MedComs/healthcare industry
  • Proven ability to build good working relationships with the business and other IT people where required.
  • Writing of business requirements
  • Working in a project environment
  • Service desk (ticket) management
