Our Role

In this exciting role, you'll be primarily accountable for the integration and management of services from both internal and external suppliers to ensure delivery of high-performance end-to-end IT operational services. You'll have a strong association with Service Delivery Managers in the Business Units led by the Director of Energy. You'll build a service delivery team as required to support Renewables and Thermal as it transitions its core applications to 3rd party hosting and management.

You'll develop and implement changes to the Service Delivery operations to anticipate and lead service improvements, ensuring new services are transitioned to an operational state either with Group IT Shared Services or with external suppliers. It is essential you develop effective relationships between IT and your business unit. Accountable for the Operational Services for all direct production IT and network services, you'll develop and maintain effective commercial and service management of external suppliers.

Your Skills and Experience

You'll need a good knowledge of SSEs business and corporate drivers and goals and an excellent knowledge of key applications and their impact to the business. With experience of a broad range of IT services and disciplines and significant technical or functional experience, some it gained in other organisations, you'll have expert knowledge in the use of Service Management processes and best practice, such as ITIL, and be qualified to ISEB Managers certificate level. You'll also be Six Sigma qualified to at least green belt level and have an excellent understanding of the development, customisation and implementation of customer support processes and procedure. You'll bring commercial, financial, contract and supplier management experience as well as significant experience of working in IT at a management level with strong leadership experience in IT Service Management.
