To assist fee earners with the profitable management of their caseload while practicing the highest codes of professional conduct and customer service. To engage in other activities as directed by the fee earner concerned.

Main Duties

·Carry out client work as allocated by Fee Earners, under their supervision

·Ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously

·At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner

·Ensure the confidentiality and security of the business, and client, documentation and information

·Comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors

·Maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the Business

·Ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations

·To comply with the business office policies and procedures

·To conduct or assist with conducting a caseload in an efficient, commercially (financially and with risk management) aware and professional manner

·To assist with obtaining division billing targets

·To assist, if required, with the allocation of new client enquiries and to ensure that these are not allocated inappropriately to Fee Earners without the expertise/capacity/training to professionally deal with the same to the standard required by the Business;

·To assist and help the business to maintain its accreditation to regulatory bodies and maintain personal professional accreditations/franchises and obtain new accreditations as appropriate

·To provide administration support and manage support staff assigned to your team or division unit

·To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing, telephone communication skills, client and colleague management skills and word processing skills

·To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the business policies as set out on the business Intranet

·To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch, to arrange for all copying to be done, to make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up to date diary

Skills and Behaviours

·Experienced residential property experience either as a legal secretary or legal assistant

·Strong attention to detail

·Highly numerate

·Ability to work to deadlines

·Works well under pressure

·Need to be self - motivated

·Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

·Fully computer literate
