Our client is one of the most recognisable brands in the world and currently looking to grow the sales team within their experience days division.

As Head of Retail Sales you will provide strategic vision and develop short and long term initiatives to deliver sustainable growth. You will be a high-energy, self-starter with strong business acumen, and the demonstrated ability to develop a robust sales pipeline. As the head of Retail sales for the business you will be responsible for driving the commercial sales performance. Given the prestige of the brand; the expectation around service will be of the highest order, your role will be to embody that service level and drive this through your teams.

The successful candidate will be highly collaborative with exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to influence and earn trust both with prospective customers and the wider business team.

  • Continuous generation of ideas for further Retail opportunities to ensure a leading edge strategy; maintain knowledge of the market place, competitors and trends - always looking for new opportunities to further drive growth, retail excellence and competitive advantage aligned to the brand.
  • Manage the relationships with several key Retailers, working closely with them to identify ways to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Retain and grow existing customers; driving retail profitability including achievement of budgeted sales, conversion and ATV
  • Contributing to overall retail strategy to achieve business objectives and contributing to the experience calendar and range planning processes to ensure the right assortment of experiences and communication plans are being developed to support the targets and the dynamics of the market.
  • Deliver sales growth through the acquisition of brand aligned new customers
  • To manage negotiations with, pitches to and contracts with retail resellers. Support negotiation of the commercial and technical terms as well as the legal contracts, Create, negotiate and close all commercial agreements.
  • Analysis of key Retail financial metrics to ensure understanding of performance; and introduction of key initiatives to improve and maximize performance. Actively network with customers and external partners who can help generate new sales opportunities
  • Financial management - spend in line with budget; Where negative variances from budgets are identified corrective actions are implemented.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting and planning process; including regular forecasting.Ensure Retail activity/reporting is timely and accurate in support of commercial decision making
  • Working right across the sales process to inform, support, challenge and inspire the Account Management team to spot, develop and convert a pipeline of opportunities. Delivering training to more junior sales team members where required.
  • Manage all personnel within the Retail Team, determining and putting in place the required resource and ensuring training, development and performance are best in class for our sector
  • Invest time in coaching and coach for development, leveraging individual motivations for change and improvement. Facilitate the integration and acceptance of major changes in the organisation's strategy or culture.
  • Liaise with the Product Team to ensure we have an appealing range which can be sold profitably through target reseller channels.
  • To advise and guide the Executive on Retail strategy and market opportunities, evaluate competitor performance, strengths and weaknesses and feed findings into tactical and strategic decisioning.
Previous Experience:

  • Self-motivated, focused, dynamic, tenacious and driven with a strong work ethic
  • Confidence and creativity to close sales
  • Skilled in prioritizing and triaging obligations
  • Strong commercial and operational awareness, with well-developed numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in line with targets and deadlines
  • Exceptional communication, relationship, presentation and rapport building skills, with the ability to articulate the company's ongoing strategy and vision
  • Ability to understand new products and the significance of market trends in the sector
  • Exceptional eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation
  • Experience of designing and implementing a business development strategy

  • Proven track record of large / Key Retail Account Management, with robust understanding and implementation of supporting techniques (essential)
  • Proven track record of achieving targets in a similar retail environment (essential)
  • Knowledge of the experience/voucher market including its competitors (desirable)
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics desirable)
