Special Needs Lunch Time Support Worker - Lambeth

  • Part-time hours (12.5 per week)
  • Hourly pay (£9.00-10.00 ph)

Empowering Learning are looking for Lunchtime Support Workers to work in our SEND School in Lambeth, South London. We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive Lunchtime Support Workers who hold a healthcare background and have experience with supporting young people with a range of Special Educational Needs. You will be responsible for supporting young people with feeding, assisting with personal care - supporting individuals with toileting and changing, supervising their behaviour and assisting with personal care. We are looking for experienced individuals who are willing to commit to 12.5 hours per week and can provide consistency to build a strong rapport with students. Experience is desirable, but not essential, however our Schools look for individuals who have a fantastic working ethic and has passion and willingness to develop new skills and take on additional training. Our Schools support children and young adults with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities such as Autism, PMLD, Complex needs, SLD and MLD.

Job requirements:
  • Experience supporting young adults with a range of SEND needs - desirable not essential
  • Willingness and comfortable assisting with personal care
  • Confident working with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and pupils
  • Compassion, patience and confidence
  • A valid DBS registered on the update service
  • Available 3-5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-12 months
  • Must be able to provide two professional references

Job responsibilities:
  • Support students over the lunchtime period - feeding and changing

  • Coordinating activities
