Reporting to the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions, the Senior Associate Director, Student Recruitment and Admissions will contribute to the development of a short-term and long-term admissions strategy consistent with the School's overall goals, and play a key role in the recruitment and selection of day and boarding students who will be best served by the Mission of TASIS England. Experience of working within the American curriculum is essential as we follow the American curriculum and our students take the International Baccalaureate and American Advanced Placement exams.

The post holder will work with the Director and other colleagues across the School in optimising processes relating to recruitment, admissions, retention and financial aid, and will have primary responsibility for the ongoing identification, assessment and relationship management of key influencers in the student and parent decision making process in the UK and worldwide, including education consultants retained by families, agents, relocation consultants and key links in schools where students have previously transferred to TASIS, or may do so in the future.

This position may require significant travel to key market areas, as part of the School's commitment to attracting an internationally diverse student population, for both its academic year and summer school activities. The postholder will also conduct admission interviews, host admission receptions, review and evaluate admission applications for the constituent parts of the School, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions.

The postholder will have an in-depth understanding and experience of the American curriculum to enable them to carry out these roles.

A high-level of understanding of the challenges and opportunities an American international school such as TASIS works within with regards to student recruitment and admissions is required.

Play a key role in all aspects of the admissions process (both academic year and summer programs), including communications, visits, open days, tours and admissions committees, providing support for students their families and influencers in the journey from prospective to attending students at TASIS;

Recruit in the UK and abroad: participate in regularly attending school fairs and exhibitions as agreed, and evaluate these activities in working with the Director to develop annual plans.

Act as TASIS's key liaison point with primary contact personnel at important source companies, organizations and schools. Invite key influencing personnel to campus and host visits, tours and special events to aid recruitment and retention;

Communicate effectively with other departments/divisions within the School at senior level: play a key role in expertly identifying and assessing the strengths and best-selling points of each divisional programme, informed by intelligence from potential students, families and their influencers;

Collaborate with divisional/department heads and represent the School at important events including off-site recruitment fairs, parent coffees, exhibitions and school visits. Participate in important campus events including New Student Orientation, Parents Weekend, Open Days, May Fair;

Contribute to the development and implementation of overall admissions strategies for increasing inquiries and applications and for increasing yield: proactively evaluate past recruitment efforts and research new regions for recruitment. Liaise regularly with the TASIS US and TASIS Lugano teams to identify areas of best practice and co-ordination.

Provide, as required, relevant statistics on all aspects of admissions, re-enrolment, and financial aid and to contribute to all aspects of retention, including a retention committee comprised of administration and faculty;

Understand trends in both independent and international school admissions, financial aid, and retention; including economic and demographic shifts that could impact and benefit admissions and enrolment, and be able to appropriately communicate those trends within the TASIS community and to influencers using an understanding of marketing techniques and opportunities;

Manage internal office personnel and systems: assist in the daily management of office operations and routines. In the absence of the Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions, may be required to oversee the normal functions within the Admissions Office;

Manage and develop databases of records and information on companies, consultants, agents, relocations organisations, in addition to school feeders. Develop and maintain relationships with primary contacts to effectively market the School. Provide updated information on the School and keep these constituencies informed on current programmes and facilities;
