Interim Head of Finance Operations

Firefly HC are currently working with a leading Sports & Leisure organisation in Staines to recruit a Financial Controller into their team on an interim basis, into their high-paced and dynamic finance team. The role is key to lead the optimisation of the Finance Operations team delivering results of the highest integrity, whilst constantly driving for efficiency and effectiveness in all processes within a team of professional financial accountants, technical specialists.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage the effective delivery of financial operations, ensuring that Cabinet Office continues to meet its prompt payment targets and builds on performance in this area;
  • Drive forward an effective policy on income collection and debt management, working closely with Finance Business Partners to drive forward efficiencies in relation to income and charges;
  • Work closely with our shared services provider and the Head of Systems and Business Intelligence to ensure that the systems are fit for purpose, service level agreements are adhered to and changes are made in a managed way.
  • Lead the annual financial NAO audits, liaising with NAO throughout the year and preparing the Department for both interim and final audits.
  • Review, identify and embed best practice policies, processes and protocols to improve financial accounting efficiency and enhance internal controls.
